Pre-Conference
Theme: Arizona Trainers: We Collaborate with and Support One Another
|
For LivingWorks active safeTALK and ASIST Trainers only.
This Trainer Conference will be held on the Pre-Conference day for the Arizona Suicide Prevention Coalition’s annual statewide HOPE Conference. The Trainer Conference will be open to any and all active ASIST and safeTALK trainers (in Arizona and beyond). This annual conference is offered each year as a way to respond to the needs expressed by Arizona trainers in the AZSPC Trainer Network Survey (last administered in 2017 and regularly administered every 2-3 years). Bringing trainers together for skill-building, networking, and collaboration opportunities has kept our Arizona trainer network grounded in support and has helped with sustainability of trainers statewide. We aim to create a day together that will focus on two LivingWorks Core Values: Collaboration: We work together appreciating that collaboration pools wisdom. Support: Listening and responding thoughtfully is inherent in all that we do. To accomplish this focus, we will pursue the following goals:
Arizona trainers will leave with a fresh understanding regarding the value of pooled wisdom that working together brings; and, we support one another, our participants, our communities when we listen and respond thoughtfully in all we do. We know from past conferences and post conference surveys that attendees appreciate the opportunity to network and meet other trainers and learn about what they are doing in their regional areas. We also hope to focus on skill building in the coaching sessions, hoping that trainers leave feeling they have learned some new skills or with renewed confidence in their training techniques. |
